The American College of Physicians released clinical guidelines for treating nonradicular low back pain. Chiropractic care such as massage, spinal manipulation, and heat therapy were on the list of effective treatments of acute and subacute lower back pain. Acute back pain is categorized as pain that lasts less than four weeks. While subacute is back pain lasts four to twelve weeks.
The clinical outcomes evaluated included improvements in low back pain, overall function, and patient satisfaction. Further, there were reductions in the number of episodes, time between episodes, and work disability allowing patients to return to work sooner.
Tyrone Chiropractic Clinic offers spinal manipulation, massage, and heat therapies as part of your treatment plan. We strive to keep you healthy without the use of pain medications.
